Hungarian Youth Association of the Târnava Mică Valley

The Hungarian Youth Association of the Târnava Mică Valley (ALKISZ-in Hungarian translation) was formed in 2000 with the main goal of uniting the Hungarian youth organizations on the Târnava Mică Valley, of organizing different events for the Hungarian youth. Through our activities we try to satisfy the needs of the young generation.

Our organization is partner in every event, program that serves the moral and intellectual development of the Hungarian youth.

Our head-office is in Târnăveni, but ALKISZ is a rural and urban organization as well, because most of its activities, programs, events take place in the villages surrounding Târnăveni.

ALKISZ is present in 16 villages on the Târnava Mică Valley and has 355 members. Since March 2006 the organization has legal status.

Since it was formed, ALKISZ organized several leadership courses, contests, concerts, charity events, summer camps and trips. Every year we run 10 major programs. Our biggest project is the Summer Camp in Adămuş that we organize every summer since 2000.

The ALKISZ office in Târnăveni provides information about scholarships, projects and every year starting in April offers information about admittance to college.

Our organization has a magazine called -Ébresztő- and a folkdance group called -Kökényes-.
